1 - THE FEDERATION OF APPROVED ASSOCIATIONS FOR AIR QUALITY MONITORING (AASQA)
The AASQA are French organizations that study and measure air pollution in the ambient air. The Ministry of Ecology has approved these organizations to officially communicate their results. This Federation brings together the different regions of France. Each association within a region acts on air quality by :
around air quality.
There is at least one AASQA per French administrative region. They are grouped together within the Atmo federation, for example:
- Atmo Burgundy
- Atmo Rhônes-Alpes
- AirParif (Ile-de-France)
2 - BREATHING
Breathe, the National Association for the Preservation and Improvement of Air Quality founded in 2011.
It comes from the will of people who are incredulous in the face of the absurdity of a situation that has been known for a long time: air pollution, and the sense of duty they feel to take part in preserving the living environment.
Breathe with Ecology Without Borders (ESF) is organising a joint complaint against the State, aimed at compensating the victims of air pollution. They have called in a law firm. 3 - ECOLOGY WITHOUT BORDERS (ESF) :
The ESF specialises in ecological lobbying and was the NGO that initiated the Grenelle de l'environnementIt brings together citizens who are defenders of Life on Earth and wish to work for the protection of the Environment. E.S.F. focuses its action on :
- participation in the various government bodies and forums
- legal creation
4 - STRASBOURG BREATHES
Strasbourg Breathes, a collective acting as an alert on the health risks of air pollution. This collective is made up of citizens from all professional backgrounds, including doctors. Anyone can join this collective. Strasbourg Breathes was created in March 2014 following a major episode of air pollution that lasted more than a week. They decided to act together. The aim of this collective is to become an association in the long term. You can join the movement!
5 - INSPIRE
INSPIRE is an association working for better air quality in the Mont-Blanc region and for the protection of the environment, health and climate. It regularly organises actions to ensure that citizens' demands are noticed by our authorities. An important public awareness work is also carried out. The famous Arve valley is in the same region where INSPIRE is working. This is why so many people are mobilising. Indeed, this alpine valley is known to be one of the most polluted places in France. There are 85 deaths per year, for a population of 155,000 permanent inhabitants!
6 - AIR NETWORK 74
This network, created in 2013, enables the associations and collectives that are members to coordinate and organise joint mobilisations or initiatives to improve air quality in Haute-Savoie.
The Réseau Air 74 allows you to :
- Disseminate information between the different actors
- Sharing and comparing points of view to enrich the positions taken
- Strengthen mobilization by involving numerous associations and their supporters throughout the Haute-Savoie department.
In addition, we wanted to introduce you to 2 associations specific to cyclists and asthmatics. These associations act for their interests and are unfortunately suffering from the full impact of pollution.
7 - ASTHMA & ALLERGY
The Asthma & Allergies Association, created in 1991, is a non-profit association, whose main objectives are to inform and support asthma and allergy sufferers, parents of asthmatic children, as well as doctors and health professionals.
This association acts around three axes:
- Providing information to support screening and management of asthma and allergies
- Orienting patients and their families through the care pathway
- Promote and facilitate patient education to help patients control their disease and live better with it.
8 - DAILY CYCLISTS RESEARCH AND ACTION GROUP (GRACQ)
GRACQ represents cycling users in French-speaking Belgium. Its goal? To defend cyclists and their interests. It is an apolitical and non-profit association. But it is also and above all a citizen's association, composed of 99% of volunteers!
GRACQ volunteers have won several victories for cyclists, such as free bike transportation on trams, bike points in Brussels train stations and subways, the development of the RAVeL, the bicycle contra-flow (SUL), the tax exemption of the bicycle allowance, and the ceding of the bicycle pass at red lights.
